Who Loves the Dragons is the sequel to Don’ Wake the Dragon. If you read Don’t Wake the Dragon, then Who loves the Dragons is the perfect follow up story. It includes lovely ways for young children to interact with the book, such as stroking Dragon scales, counting to ten to help calm the dragon, and even blowing kisses. I can see a circle of young children eagerly sitting and wanting to engage with the story. Bianca has excellent detailed illustrations for those who are not readers yet to enjoy as well.
At the heart of the story is helping young children express and contain their excitement as they look forward to things. Their anxiety, nervousness, and doubt can accompany feelings of joy, hope, and glee for significant events; like all books, their opportunities here for discussion and growth in a fun adventure geared for the young audience. Make sure to pick this one up.
