Well, apparently I enjoy books that throw me straight into a dangerous world, surround me with morally questionable characters, and then expect me to function like a normal human being afterward. Savage Lands was exactly that kind of chaos!
Stacey Marie Brown delivers a gritty, brutal fantasy filled with danger, betrayal, tension, and characters who aren’t exactly winning awards for good behavior.
Brexley is the kind of heroine I love. She’s stubborn, fierce, impulsive, and absolutely refuses to back down, even when keeping her mouth shut might be the smarter option. And Warwick? That man is practically a walking red flag factory. Dangerous, mysterious, infuriating, and somehow impossible to ignore.
The tension between these two is ridiculous! Their interactions are packed with hostility, chemistry, and enough attitude to make me wonder whether they’re going to kill each other or kiss.
I loved the darker atmosphere, the constant uncertainty about who could be trusted, and the way the story kept throwing new problems at Brexley. This is definitely not a cozy fantasy where everyone sits around drinking tea and making sensible decisions.
My biggest complaint? I wanted answers, and this book seemed determined to give me even more questions!
