War is only the beginning…

From #1 New York Times bestselling author Jennifer L. Armentrout comes book four in her Blood and Ash series.

From the desperation of golden crowns…

Casteel Da’Neer knows all too well that very few are as cunning or vicious as the Blood Queen, but no one, not even him, could’ve prepared for the staggering revelations. The magnitude of what the Blood Queen has done is almost unthinkable.

And born of mortal flesh…

Nothing will stop Poppy from freeing her King and destroying everything the Blood Crown stands for. With the strength of the Primal of Life’s guards behind her, and the support of the wolven, Poppy must convince the Atlantian generals to make war her way—because there can be no retreat this time. Not if she has any hope of building a future where both kingdoms can reside in peace.

A great primal power rises…

Together, Poppy and Casteel must embrace traditions old and new to safeguard those they hold dear—to protect those who cannot defend themselves. But war is only the beginning. Ancient primal powers have already stirred, revealing the horror of what began eons ago. To end what the Blood Queen has begun, Poppy might have to become what she has been prophesied to be—what she fears the most.

As the Harbinger of Death and Destruction.

Review:

The War of Two Queens is the fourth book in the Blood and Ash series by Jennifer L. Armentrout. She includes a trope that looks like one from Goodreads, for which she gets a lot of hate. While I am not a fan of threesomes and was not a fan of that particular part of the book, I skipped that chapter and finished the book. You can’t save everyone, but you can choose to save the ones you love most.”
This book was very Intense from beginning to end! It’s like steps of small missions that need to be achieved before moving to the next step, all leading to the stopping of the blood queen. All think that once she has been dealt with, they can start rebuilding both kingdoms. Poppy is changing in her powers, self-confidence, and boldness. Many have doubts that this is a positive thing. Poppy also learns new information about her family tree, past and present.
Many new creatures are introduced, as well as new allies and some new enemies, but not all are what they seem.
Many trials and personal issues are faced by many of the characters.
Near the end, I was surprised by what the blood queen had intended. It’s a twist that you won’t expect. Luckily, our central trio has helped, in an unexpected way, to thwart her plans. Unfortunately, they find that much damage is done, and the war is just beginning.
I hope the next book is just as involved.
Love, devotion, comical remarks, action, unique creatures, and descriptive world-building combine to entice one’s imagination and create a tremendous emotional experience.
