Review

The third novel of The Books of Babel series is told in 3 separate storylines our characters are each sent on their missions. Tom, of course, is off trying to find his wife, who has been stolen and forced to marry the duke, and he is using something of value to her to keep her in check. Meanwhile, Iren and Voleta are off on their quest to back up Tom’s mission. Finally, Edith and the enchanting Byron are left to defend the state-of-the-art ship the Sphinx has loaned them to retrieve a treasure. The intersecting storylines give us a great glimpse into what happened to Tom’s wife since we saw her at the start of this series. Tom’s various characters throughout this book make it a grand adventure. Add the quirky creations the Sphinx has created to run the tower, and you got an excellent steampunk twist. Book four is the final book, and so we shall see if tom and his wife get to escape and live happily ever after, or will they be trapped in the tower forever?

About Josiah Bancroft

Josiah Bancroft started writing novels when he was twelve and by the time he finished his first, he was an addict. Eventually, the writing of Senlin Ascends began, a fantasy adventure, not so unlike the stories that got him addicted to words in the first place. He wanted to do for others what his favourite writers had done for him: namely to pick them up and carry them to a wonderful and perilous world that is spinning very fast. If he’s done that with this book, then he’s happy.

Josiah lives in Philadelphia with his wife, Sharon, and their two rabbits, Mabel and Chaplin.
