Karigan G’ladheon, running away from school, is traveling through a deep forest when a galloping horse pounds up to her, its rider impaled by two black-shafted arrows. With his dying breath, he tells her he is a Green Rider, one of the magical messengers of the King. Before he dies, he makes Karigan swear to deliver the message he’s carrying, and gives her his green coat, with the symbolic brooch of his office. Pursued by unknown assassins, following a path only her horse seems to know, Karigan becomes a legendary Green Rider—for when given to the right person, a Rider’s brooch awakens the magic inside….

The new Green Rider book comes out in September 2021 and while i read all the books coming up to the new one it been a long time since i read them.  So i upgrading all my kindle copies to audio ones and immeresing my self in this wonderful series all over again.  I don’t think i wrote reviews for them back when i read them so you get to read those right here as i make my way through them once again.

Review

I read this many years ago and devoured the whole series like I was starving for a good fantasy series. It spoke to me when I was a young lady in my 20’s just starting in the world much like Karrigan and had my determination to make it what I wanted it to be. I wished I’d been called by some magic force to become something unique like a Green Rider for the king and to have special abilities would be, yep, a fantasy story. The Green Rider series is the perfect novel for a 20-year-old to pick up the cause; as time goes on, Karrigan grows into the world she is drawn to, and we all find out a way eventually in this world. Picking up this series some 20 years later, I was worried it did not hold the same awe as it once did, but it does. I still laughed when she met the Barry sisters and learned that magic is real, and their no escaping the pounding of hoofbeats while running from your destiny.
