On a mission to secure peace between two kingdoms, one woman faces the test of her young life. One she might not pass. Princess Taviny of Bron knew there would be decisive moments in her life beyond her control. She never imagined traveling to neighboring Tarn would be one of them. Sent as an envoy to ease the rising tensions between the two kingdoms, she knows all it would take to spark a war is one small misunderstanding. Her mission is put to the test the moment she sets foot in Tarn. Trouble follows her like a whirlwind, threatening to unravel her quest and take her life. Nothing in Tarn is as it seems. But all is not lost. Her counterpart, Roxston, knows how important securing a lasting peace between the kingdoms is for all. Cast together and thrown into a world neither truly understand, each must come to terms with who they are and who they are meant to become. Countless lives are at stake and, should they fail, the consequences will be far too much to bear.
Welcome to a world of intrigue, deceit, and dragons. A world bordering the precipice of peace and the unending hostility of war. Taviny has one chance to succeed, but with secret powers arraying against her, it might already be too late. Can she and Roxston overcome their differences to save their kingdoms?
Review:
Welcome to a world with two Kingdoms, Bron and Tarn, a straightforward mistake away from blowing things up and peace being a distant one. Her world-building was exceptional, immersing me in the unfolding events. The chemistry between our two main characters is sometimes comical, but Taviny is a feisty wild child, and Roxston likes figuring out his reply to her quick-witted banter. The two kingdoms are vastly different in how they interact and handle their emotions and magic. Are you in for a treat
if you enjoy enemies-to-lovers plotlines, unexpected twists, intrigue, strong female characters, and a supportive dragon, this book might be just what you’re looking for.
