How Was My Week?

So we started the next phase of laying our new flooring and updating of whichever room we are working on this time it our laundry room.  I live in a very old house and the laundry is on what we assume used to be the porch for the house so there like outside paneling on the walls and the only thing we had done is lay linoelum and we have switched out laundry machines a few times over the 20 odd years we lived here.  So this room is due for some major updating.  Due to the laundry room being on the old porch there a main door into the kitchen but just two screen doors leading to the outside.  Now we never had a break in but i would like a more secure door to the outside.  So for this room it getting the new floor, updated walls not sure what that gonna be yet if hubby gonna take siding off and do sheet rock or just leave that for now.  New door, new cupboards and laundry room sink.

Now for the title of my post Book Clubs and Arcs.  I have very few friends who read that i see on a regular basis that best i come up with the is new local library book club which is not terrible but the ladies are not very socialble.  Well i been seeing this ad floating around for Fable.  Now i was leery cause i don’t need to pay for another social media thing but this is free of course there are options on there to pay for things but the basic use of it is free.  You find a book club that reading a book you like and the forum is set up so you can discuss each chapter and then a final spot to leave your review or final thoughts.  So i signed up for quite a few over there and hopefully that will fill my book club chatty need.  Now arcs i was sent the newest book in the Vera Stanhope series i watched the show love it and i been trying to decide if i need to read the previous ten books before i read the  one i just got gifted.  I decided to try and do the ten before august then i be caught up on the series.

Now my question to you is do you like when you get arcs or the opportunity to do a read along for a series.  I do i saw one for ember in the ashes and like can i squeeze in another series read along as i am doing vera, crave and others? So, my question: Do you like to try to catch up on series with other people so you can chat about them, or do you prefer to get to them when you can? Is anyone on Fable? If so, what book club should I check out?

  1. Well I’m a HUGE fan of COYER. It has challenges and Readathons, Book Club, a community and it adopted my Read-alongs. You can pick and choose though you don’t have to do everything. I do my Read-alongs with monthly chats to reread series I loved which maybe I got the ARCs a year apart over several years. Or to read series I didn’t manage to read. We are started a new RA in July with the Mageri series by Dannika Dark which is 6 books of urban fantasy. COYER is a lot but even the community of people if you don’t do the challenges is really fun.

I requested to join i just had another person bail on a buddy read so inreally hoping to get someone that likes to read and discuss books.

  2. Okay, I gave in and paid for a year membership to Bookly since it is only $29 and am waiting for them to fix the Goodreads transfer. Mine didn’t work and they said there were some bugs when I reached out because that was the main reason I paid, so I could do that. Lots of good looking books! I rarely do readalongs or book clubs because I’m so finicky and mood reading, other than my ARCs I guess. But I am doing a readalong right now, or finishing one up about the White Trash Zombie series. I’m not on Fable, maybe I’ll check it out. Have a good week!

I hope you enjoy bookly as much as i do. I did not do the goodreads export i just perfer to use it for the reports rather then having it bogged down with my crazy mess of goodreads. I use goodreads for my reviews and marking books i want to read. Let me know what you think of bookly. I hope to see you share some reports in your future posts.
