Review:
Onyx Storm is the third book in The Empyrean series by the outstanding author Rebecca Yaros. Rebecca Yaros is well known for her heart-wrenching contemporary novels with characters with heart and strength, and she is an author who is not afraid to stomp on her readers’ hearts. Rebecca pulls no punches when it comes to her characters. The Empyrean series is her first foray into a fantasy series, and when an author jumps ships and tries another genre, it does not always go well. In this case, it went so well, and I even took the leap and crossed genres and read one of her contemporary novels, Variations, which ripped my heart out and gave me all the good feels. In this third book, we pick up where we left off in Iron Flame, with Violet having her two famous dragons, Tarin and Andrana. She lost her mom, and Andrana wants to know her family. Xadaen is suffering terribly, and many things are put between him and Violet in this third book and the Veninin are pulling no punches in their war on Arteria. With a third book now completed, our author warns us we will be in for a wait as her body needs time to heal from the whirlwind the first three books have done on her. Just like Violet, our author suffers from an illness as well. So with bated breath, we will all have to wait a year or two to see what happens, but like all good stories, they will keep.
I still need to read book 2, so won’t stress too much as I’ve been hearing about the cliffhanger on this one as well as the author needing a bit of time before the next one comes out. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
