Review:
I read many stories about fae, faeries, trolls, and humans, but I never read one with pixies. Among Veiled Stars is the first book in the Bound to Aevover series written by debut author Shelby Brookes. I enjoy hosting debut authors on my blog as I get the chance to tap new talent and say hey, you’re terrific. Let’s tell everyone just how excellent your book is. Among Veiled Stars has everything I enjoy in a fantasy novel: adventure, a quest, new creatures (pixies in this one), and old stand-bys like griffins, trolls, and humans. In this novel, we have a young woman forced to marry a human to save the world, and when she does, her magic explodes and wakes up the world that has been glamoured to hide the sickness that is killing it. The twist at the end and the development of our FMC is dramatic; it’s worth cheering for, and her actual love interest is quite a catch. I was captivated from start to finish and so glad I took a chance to read this story. I can’t wait to see how it all plays out in book two.

Shelby is a debut author originally from a small town in Texas. She has pursued many creative endeavors such as graphic design, custom cakes, raising show bunnies for fiber arts, and various other activities. In high school, you could find her in band or writing fanfictions late at night, and though the love of writing and reading left her for a few years in her adulthood, she was renewed when she picked up a couple of romantasy books and hasn’t stopped reading or writing since.
