The New York Times Bestseller
In Ink and Bone, bestselling author Rachel Caine introduced a world where knowledge is power, and power corrupts absolutely. Now she continues the story of those who dare to defy the Great Library—and rewrite history...
Jess Brightwell has survived his introduction to the sinister, seductive world of the Library, but serving in its army is nothing like he envisioned. His life and the lives of those he cares for have been altered forever.
Embarking on a mission to save one of their own, Jess and his band of allies make one wrong move and suddenly find themselves hunted by the Library’s deadly automata and forced to flee Alexandria, all the way to London.
But Jess’s home isn’t safe anymore. The Welsh army is coming, London is burning, and soon Jess must choose between his friends, his family, and the Library, which is willing to sacrifice anything and anyone in the search for ultimate control...
Review:
I am in love with this series. The idea is so fresh and addicting to know what will happen next. I am wrapped up in this word of Jess, the book smuggler now working for the Great Library, and Morgan, who he loves with all his soul. I am fighting alongside him as he tries to fight for what he believes the library stands for but finds out that belief is false along the way.
There is one major part of this story where I was crying tears
“The first shelf of books was entirely on fire with licks of greenish-white flame. The second above it smoked, and Jess could see paper blackening and curling at the edges.
Book after book.
Level after level.”
All that information went into the greenish evil fire. I love this book and am ready for the next one. The Great Library is a unique series, and Rachel Caine does a great job of drawing you in with all the twists and turns and players you thought were dead, maybe not so dead. Great book. I highly recommend the first one, which is Ink and Bone.
