Review:

The Five Wishes of Mr. Murrrary Mcbride is a heartwarming story about an unlikely friendship, hope, and love. We have a 100-year-old man who is on the verge of choosing to end his life by stopping a prescription med that helps keep his lungs clear so he can live another day. We also have a ten-year-old boy who needs a new heart but is unlikely to get one in time. One day, they have an unlikely meeting, which leads Murrary to discover that Jason, the ten-year-old, has a list of seemingly impossible five wishes to complete before he dies.
What unfolds is the tale of this unlikely friendship, as Murrary is 100 years old and Jason is ten and obsessed with video games. There are a lot of comedic moments as Murrary learns how to email, attempts to play video games, and imparts wisdom and respect to elders. The ending, while sad as you would expect, I mean, we got two likely candidates for death, but it does not end how I expected it to end. I was engaged throughout the tale, and though it made me cry, sometimes those books are the best.
