My Home Filled with Love by Desiree Blanchard is told from the perspective of a little, sweet girl. She tells us everything she loves about her mom and dad. The book explores the relationship between children and their parents and how children receive love. At the end of the book, there are activities for kids to participate in that can open up time to discuss questions kids may have. The book lends itself well to educational learning yet is an engaging story that young children will enjoy listening to and eventually reading themselves. Children are very observant and take in everything in their environment. Playing simple games like hide and seek together, going to the park, or taking a bath may seem like mundane activities, but they can become lasting memories when the love is evident in the event. The story is rhymed, making it easy for young children to follow.
