The truth about Neverland is far more dangerous than a fairy tale...
Claire Kenton believes the world is too dark for magic to be real--since her twin brother was stolen away as a child. Now Claire's desperate search points to London...and a boy who shouldn't exist.
Peter Pan is having a beastly time getting back to Neverland. Grounded in London and hunted by his own Lost Boys, Peter searches for the last hope of restoring his crumbling island: a lass with magic in her veins.
The girl who fears her own destiny is on a collision course with the boy who never wanted to grow up. The truth behind this fairy tale is about to unravel everything Claire thought she knew about Peter Pan--and herself.
Review
The last few Peter Pan retellings that I have read have taken the peter character and given him a dark, twisty aspect and hook the feeling you feel bad for. I think this is a unique way to take the Disney version of the character and put your twist on it. Also, the concept of the fairy dust they use to fly to Neverland not being as sweet and innocent as we are grown up believing it is, and that can have a dark side to it. I also like the fact that Neverland is not all enduring. It can fall apart, have issues, and somewhere out, some people can save it. The twist and turns in the story kept me entertained, and I thoroughly enjoyed it as an audiobook. I think I finished it in just under two days which is fantastic for me. If you like new twists on the old and don’t mind some darkness, this would be a great read. Book two is also out very soon.
