B.K. Borison somehow took A Christmas Carol, added a lonely Ghost of Christmas Past, wrapped it in twinkle lights, and made me completely forget I was reading a romance between a woman and an actual ghost.
Because yes… it works.
Harriet is the kind of heroine who spends so much of her life trying to make everyone else happy that she’s forgotten what she wants. Then Nolan—the Ghost of Christmas Past—shows up to haunt her, and what starts as a hilarious “why is there a ghost in my living room?” situation slowly turns into one of the most emotional romances I’ve read in a long time.
The banter is top-tier. The holiday atmosphere is ridiculously cozy. And underneath all the magic is a story about grief, forgiveness, family, and finally believing you’re worthy of being loved.
Nolan absolutely stole my heart. He isn’t just charming—he’s thoughtful, funny, and carries his own regrets that make every moment between him and Harriet feel bittersweet. Every chapter had me wondering how on earth this story could end without destroying me.
Thankfully, B.K. Borison balances the emotional punches with warmth, humor, and enough Christmas magic that I was smiling through most of the book… and maybe wiping away a few suspiciously festive tears near the end.
If you’re looking for a romance that’s more than just swoony kisses—one that has heart, hope, and a little holiday magic—Good Spirits absolutely delivers. It reminded me that sometimes the people who help us move forward are the ones who first make us look back.
A cozy, magical romance that completely possessed my heart. Christmas romances are going to have a hard time topping this one.
