This is a must read for all you Maleficent fans who are gearing up for the second movie. I know i am dying to see it but just have not had the time to go to the theater. So this wonderful middle grade novel written by the amazing Holly Black is just the ticket to wet your appetite.
The story takes parts of the original tale and expends on them and of course you have the new information from the first movie to fill in why Maleficent is so darn evil. Which i can totally understand would you be so nice if your wings had been stolen i don’t thinks so.
In this delightful story we also see more of the aunts and the goodness of our beloved Aurora as she try’s to balance the two kingdoms that she now queen of. The riddles at the festival to decide who got to lead the first dance with Aurora was by far my favorite part of the story. Maleficent also gets to show off a few tricks with changing people into animals.
All in all if you have a middle grade who loves Maleficent and is eager to see the new movie or the first one this a great book to read.
