Ever wanted to grow a five-story tall flower in central park? How about fight a deadly battle under the subway tunnels of Manhattan?

Don’t worry. I never wanted to either. But if you’re ever being chased by ladies made of mist and you have to save the girl with the sparkly eyes you’ve never had the guts to say actual words to, there’s an app for that.

I found a magic cell phone, opened an app I shouldn’t have, burned down the set shop for my high school’s theatre, and it was all downhill from there. A drag queen seer who lives under a bridge is my only hope for keeping my mom alive, and I think the cops might be after me for destroying my dad’s penthouse.

But it gets better! Now I’m stuck being the sidekick to the guy who got me into this mess in the first place. It’ll be a miracle if I survive until Monday.

Jan’s Review

This story is a rip roaring bit of entertainment that starts off with a perfectly normal teenager who just trying to hide that he comes from money.  He has a perfectly normal life going on, likes a girl, has a best friend until said best friend picks up what seems to be a perfectly normal cell phone that some creepy fellow leaves behind in a New York City cab. Little did they know that the phone is gonna be the end of the normal life they have.

Things slowly spiral out of control from their, fires are set off, flowers grow out of central park, and of course the owner of the phone comes calling to get it back.  Turns out this is not a normal cell phone it quite possibly contains every evil spell known to man kind and of course our main character has to unlock the phone and start messing around with it.  Of course our main character is the only one who can open it among his friends.  The phone also ends up being indestructible and the comedy that ensued while they tried to destroy the phone was classic.

I was very entertained as i read this book way more then i expected to be.  The author has the ability to draw you in to a story that you really can’t believe happens but at the same time your like i got to know what gonna happen next.  Thanks to Curiosity Quills for an advanced reader copy.
