"Somewhere out beyond the edge of the universe there is a library that contains an infinite number of books, each one the story of another reality. One tells the story of your life as it is, along with another book for the other life you could have lived if you had made a different choice at any point in your life. While we all wonder how our lives might have been, what if you had the chance to go to the library and see for yourself? Would any of these other lives truly be better? Nora Seed finds herself faced with this decision. Faced with the possibility of changing her life for a new one, following a different career, undoing old breakups, realizing her dreams of becoming a glaciologist; she must search within herself as she travels through the Midnight Library to decide what is truly fulfilling in life, and what makes it worth living in the first place."--Publisher description.

Review

I picked this book because the title includes a library in its name. I almost always enjoy books about books, places where books are, people hunting down books, or people adventuring into books. I swear in a past life, I must have owned a book store or been a librarian. The midnight library is a love letter to your soul. A love letter for 2020 or any year where things in your life and the world are just not in sync with where you like them to be and how to enjoy the life you have.

The book digs into the very essence of us as human beings the doubt we succumb to about decisions we make, the depression that lurks when we think what if, and the absolute joy when we feel we got it all and then we don’t. At The Midnight library, you have the chance to explore all of the million ways your life could have gone if you chose this or that. The million ways you think your life would have been perfect. It truly opens your eyes to what you have and what you feel you need to be happy.

I loved this book so much that I plugged it into it and did not come up for air till I was almost done with it. The midnight library was an unexpected blessing and a beautiful book.

The Midnight Library is truly inspiring, beautfil and at times devastingly honest. A magical ride through all the what ifs and could have beens of your life. To the moment when you truly see you are all ready living your best life.… Share on X
