But she can't shake the feeling that there was more to what happened that day. She knew Sal when she was a child, and he was always so kind to her. How could he possibly have been a killer?
Now a senior herself, Pip decides to reexamine the closed case for her final project, at first just to cast doubt on the original investigation. But soon she discovers a trail of dark secrets that might actually prove Sal innocent . . . and the line between past and present begins to blur. Someone in Fairview doesn't want Pip digging around for answers, and now her own life might be in danger.

Review:
A Good Girls Guide to Murder is getting all the hype right now as it has a show on Netflix. I started watching the show before I got to the book, as I signed up for it as part of a traveling book. I have read it all now so I can finish the show. I am not sure I like the show as much as the book, but I am of the opinion the book is always better. I liked how authentic this story felt with the footnotes, the scanned documents, and transcripts of the interviews. You felt like you were part of this investigation. I am unsure how many school districts would have stayed on board as she submitted her progress, but I am all here for the twists. I always appreciate thrillers that keep me guessing until the end, and I have no clue who did what. I am also glad that though there are multiple books in the series, from what I can tell, each book will handle another case in the same town. Guess I see when I get to that. It was an entertaining read, but I am sad it contained an animal death. I am not a fan of those, and they can make me give up a story pretty quickly. I did stick it out after that, though, cause it happened late enough in the story I wanted to know who did it.
I got kind of bored watching the show, so I might try reading the book instead. Thanks for the warning about the animal death too, that is always a hard thing to read.
